Sustainability

For more than two decades, Roses has been firmly committed to sustainability as a strategic pillar of its development. In 2003, the municipality approved its Local Sustainability Action Plan, marking the beginning of a commitment that remains as strong today as ever.

Since then, sustainability has been integrated across all municipal policies, as demonstrated by initiatives such as the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan, the EMAS and ISO 14001 environmental certifications awarded to its urban beaches and marina, and its participation in the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism within the Cap de Creus Natural Park.

More recently, the Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (RTR) has reinforced this commitment, driving the transformation of Roses towards a more responsible and sustainable tourism model.
